The philosophy of RFD is one which supports a low-energy-consuming lifestyle, voluntary simplicity and delight, and RFD's readers tend to maintain a high interest in alternative products, publications, services and real estate.
RFD also appears in the more progressive libraries and bookstores across the nation. Its readership is not confined to gay men living in rural areas. In fact, about half of RFD's subscribers live in urban areas, and of course, there are readers who don't consider themselves gay, or male.
RFD reaches a particularly independent, intelligent, and conscious segment of the gay male population with an active, responsive circulation.
We accept avertising only for products or services that we feel may be of positive value to our readers. All adverstising claims are the responsibility of the advertiser. Repeating ads will be rerun as given unless new copy is in by the closing date. New ads comming in late will be run the next issue, unless otherwise stated. Full payment for ads is required by the closing date for the ad to appear in that issue.
RFD does not run classified ads. Our smaller ads can be used similarly and they are inexpensive. With prior arrangements, the RFD staff may occasionally be able to design an ad.

Advertising Formating
Prepared ad should be provided in PDF format or high resolution JPG or TIF (300 dpi and at least 1 megabyte file size). We will scan ad artwork for a fee of $20.
If you do not have a prepared ad, the RFD staff can prepare one for you from your photographs and text. We charge $75/hr for layout.
RFD is not responsible for poor reproduction due to low resolution artwork.
To purchase an ad online using your credit card, check card or AmEx, click on the Buy Now button below. This process uses PayPal and is simple and secure.
Before clicking the Buy Now button, be sure you know the cost of the ad space you are ordering by first referring to the table above. In the PayPal screen, there will be a box where you will need to enter the amount. After the PayPal process you will be invited to send RFD an email. Please take this opportunity to tell us the size of the ad, and how many issues to run it in.
Spring Issue closing date is January 20.
Summer Issue closing date is April 20.
Autumn Issue closing date is July 20.
Winter Issue closing date is October 20.
