Issue 131 Letters

August, 2007

Dear Friends,

Sorry to be so slow to reply to your note of July 22, but at/about 80 years of age my partner and I spend time with doctors, both on a planned and an unplanned basis - the latter intruded in late July, but we are up and about!

There is little or no likelihood that I will ever get to a Radical Faerie event or to Short Mountain Sanctuary, but I benefit from reading RFD and from the Radical Faerie realm of life . . . even at a distance.

I better “show up or shut up” - if not in person, at least by a contribution to SMS Land Fund! My personal check is enclosed. If the Land Fund gets over a barrel, please let me know and I will try to dip again.

I hope that your part of Tennessee has had and gets rain. It has been very dry here on the shore of Lake Michigan, but it did rain some/lightly last evening. It has been so dry that the leaves of the lily of the valley next to the outside wall of these two-story brick buildings (town houses) have turned totally brown and dessicated - apart from where some watering has taken place. The big lake, delta lakes and rivers, and inland lakes, ponds and “wet areas” are terribly low and/or in some cases dried up.

Then there is the political scene -DC, Iraq, and a valiant woman Democratic governor of this state battling for sense and social well-being against fustian, narrow, stingy folk in the legislature.

How does one translate disaffection and disgust into effective protest and pressure?

At the same time much of life is vibrant, good and warm!

Keep well, open and growing,

John B. Hills

Muskegon, MI

Editor’s Note: Thanks again, John, for your generous support and your thoughtful and engaging missives. Your vitality, enthusiasms and regard for social justice are inspirational. Do keep praying for rain!

Hey Fey-of -the-RFD!

Just a note to thank you ever so much for your guidance through this process. We have tons more respect for the work yenz’ve done over the years to keep this tradition alive!

I dare say that this has been a great experience for us indivdually and collectively. We certainly have learned (and taught each other) so much ourselves through this process. Exploring our history (drama and all) and swimming through our talent pool (of writers artists and sexplorators) has opened a portal to see our potential.

I think Fritter has mentioned that Baba and a few DCRadFey are planning a “release party” here at Lambda Rising ... perhaps a release party with release... lol.

May blessings rain down upon you as a shower of cum drops from a dreamy heavenly body!

Blessed Be, Glittered Be!

Eldritch See Clearly! Love Deeply! Live Boldly!

Editor’s Note: We certainly appreciate and honor the dedicated work all you DC Feys have created in this issue. And for the $1,000 donation from your DC Circle Keepers we are most grateful. It is a generous assist in meeting the printing costs of this beginning issue of our 34th year! We look forward to pictures from your #131 RFD Release Party at Lambda Rising.
