Wyn was part of the team that produced this issue of RFD. An artist and horticulturist, he lives in Berkeley with his partner Jombi.

Anthony is Co-Founder and Director of GuyWriters, a community network for gay writers in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is also a multimedia performance artist pursing an MFA in performance art from John F. Kennedy University in Berkeley, CA.

Author, artist, performer, director, Huilo emerged from a background in advertising, public relations and graphic design, to become what he refers to as an “art doctor,” developing tools to guide consciousness into multi-dimensional realities—while having fun and being impeccably honest about the dire situation of humanity.

Carol, born queer in Texas, is thinking and writing a lot these days about transformative body practices (ritual piercing, fancy Faery couture, flesh hooks, and the like). She is delighted to be cavorting here among the Faeries.

When Crystal isn't torturing herself trying to write witty, yet political and somehow spiritually conscious articles for respectable publications, she likes to to pose for priestess-pin-up calendars and have lots and lots ov head shots taken!

Dan is one of the best known photographers in San Francisco. He worked with Harvey Milk at Castro Camera, and was one of the founders of the Frameline Film Festival. In the film Milk, he is portrayed by Lucas Grabeel.

Do was introduced to the Faerie Community in 2001 when he visited Short Mountain Sanctuary for Beltane celebrations. Since that time, his life and work have been dramatically affected. Do lives in San Francisco and makes pottery under the pseudonym of Dewey Arsee.

Monique is a multifaceted performing artist whose work hurls itself into the gaps between dance, theater, drag and performance art. She and her drag queen alter-ego Fauxnique have created and performed at ODC Theater, CounterPULSE, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, the de Young Museum, and Trannyshack in San Francisco; The New Museum, Danspace Project, Howl Festival and the Stonewall in New York; the Met Theatre in Los Angeles; the Coachella music festival; and in Reykjavik, Amsterdam and London.

Heron Saline, a.k.a. Sofar Sogood, is an interspecies San Francisco hypnotherapist and mental strategist (queerhypno.com) faery, faggot, & trance artist who practices Creation Spirituality, and Holistic Embodiment. While a sucker for a nice sundress or hippy skirt, he is actually more interested and drawn to "Radical" than to "Faery," and is grateful to be connected in Kawashaway, Black Leather Wings, and local Northern CA faery tribes and friendships.

Jerry Berbiar, a.k.a Jerry the Faerie of San Francisco, was part of the Circle of Loving Companions that brought Harry Hay & John Burnside from LA to SF to care for them in the last years of their lives. A member of Nomenus, he was involved in the founding of the Sanctuary in Wolf Creek, OR. An activist for healthcare and tenants rights in SF, Jerry is currently a member of Bound Together Anarchist Bookstore Collective, the Alexander Berkman Anarchist Social Club, and the Temple Whores.

Formerly a country gentleman farmer, hailing from Sassafras on Short Mountain, Tennessee, Jok is a syndicated newspaper columnist and author, who-- with the decline of the newspaper industry-- is currently looking for the next fabulous part of his life. He lives in the heart of the beast, three doors down from Castro Street.

Jokie has been involved with the Radical Faeries in San Francisco for twelve years, serving as Faerie Freedom Village Art Director for two years and Producer for three. When he's not composing astroneurophysiological transfigurationist equations by way of a variety of art mediums or celebrating neurodiversity, he can be found making trouble in local politics or challenging norms with his peculiar sense of haberdashery.

Jombi Supastar is an etiquette consultant and artist whose work explores the realms of the subconscious, the nether worlds and the sphere of the nature spirits. He was the first African American to serve as a steward of the Short Mountain Sanctuary in middle Tennessee.

Josh grew up on a strawberry farm in Ithaca, NY. When he was around eight, he began watching his mother in her basement darkroom develop and print black and white photographs. He picked up a camera and started walking around the farm, photographing his brother, his dog, and his cow. Lapis, born 1972 in Roswell New Mexico, has been writing for twenty years; has been part of vodoo and shamagick practices for twelve years; has lived at short mountain sanctuary for ten years; has been in sexual performance venues and features; is in continual search for love community and action in the right in the most blissful way; and is currently working on the femmefestation of Queentalk a once ethereal sexposition on the way we can come black to each other in a good way.

Mark is a writer/journalist ? musician ? nature lover ? healer ? dreamer ? and lover of art and literature. He seeks intentional community, ecological consciousness, environmental responsibility/stewardship, social/spiritual revolution, and a sane, safe world for all.

Marty is a retired computer programmer and active stained glass artist. He has been hosting notorious sexual/social events for over twenty years.

Mitcho teaches the Herbal Medicine and Edibles Components for Oaksterdam University and is a founder of the Peace in Medicine Healing Center in Sebastopol, CA. He recently crafted the botanical illustrations for the herbal medicine book “Life in the Medicine.”

Mojo's life transformed in 2000 after dancing around the maypole with Short Mountain faeries for the first time. He went from having a career as a writer/editor in New York and Los Angeles to being a hippie living in a VW van. In Hawaii he studied the ancient healing practice of LomiLomi, and now lives in Berkeley where he works as a massage therapist. He edited this issue of RFD.

PETER NEOFOTIS has worked by day at the NASA Goddard Institute for
Space Studies and served as a Contributing Author for the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which recently shared the
Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore. By night, he has written and performed
the stories of Concord, Virginia at several New York theaters. Raised
in the Blue Ridge, he lives in New York City.

Rainbowman has been a 20 year Bay Area Fairie, which probably means you haven't met him. In this world, out that window, between the sheets. He's very queer, having recently taken up with downright dirty upright humans with fully opposeable thumbs. Also rather kinky, which which means kissing said bipeds with lights on, eyes and hearts, open.

Rio Corazon, of the Elven tribe of Fae is a resident of the Bay area and Hawaii; student of the healing arts, divination, and defender of Gia; as well as Transcendental Transformer-Baby Shaman. You might also know him as Seangito ThunderSprite, Little ThunderBear RiverHeart, or AfroMighty.

Shadow Weaver lives in Oakland with his boyfriend Scooter Pie, five chickens, a duck, bees, and their pet dog. One of his main interests is in how mind and spirituality manifest through the creation of art, from raw automatic writing to traditional Tibetan Thangka painting. Simon, a Libra Fire Dragon, was encouraged by his parents to be creative, was raised without television, and traveled with his family as a boy through Europe and Asia. After finishing high school in Oregon, he gallivanted off into his life as a hitch-hiking, world-circling sea creature, always on the lookout for playmates and collaborators.

Silverfang, or W'fang as many call it, is one of the original founders of the chaos cabaret collective. Past and current exploits include: living. Tinkerbear is a webineer whose life story is continually unfolding. He lives in Oakland.

Born and raised in Guadalajara, Tino's first encounters with art were in the Catholic churches of Mexico. He attended the Sorbonne in Paris in 1990, earned a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1994, and an MFA from the University of Albuquerque in 1997. His work has been featured in numerous shows in the Bay Area and Los Angeles, including the 1999 exhibition Bay Area Now 2 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.

My ancestors, the Nahua people from ancient Mexico, believed that a person’s fate was determined by their “Nagual” or animal twin spirit, which some had the power to transform themselves into. They also believed that we are born with a physical heart and face, yet we must create a deified heart to shine through our face before our features become reliable reflections of ourselves. If we are unable to do so, we are merely vagrants on the face of this earth.
